James A Williams, Jr.

James A. Williams, Jr., son of the late James and Victoria Williams was born in Franklin County, North Carolina.  James was called home on December 18, 2018. James received his education in North Carolina public schools.  He was united in Holy Matrimony on May 26, 1958 to the late Hattie B. Mayo.  They relocated to Baltimore, Maryland on July 4, 1960.

James, affectionately known as "The Governor" by his community, was immensely loved by everyone he came in contact with.  Though his interactions, he enhanced the lives of many.  James was soft-spoken, with a heart of gold.  He was a carpenter by trade and hand-crafted a lot of his home furnishings. James started his career as a cab driver and then launched his own truck driving business.

James loved serving GOD and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age.  He was a devoted Usher at Faith Baptist Church, where he enjoyed worshiping and working with the youth and young adult ministry.

James leaves to cherish his memories, four children, Maranda Williams, Kevin Rochester, Nishelle Kane-Taylor,  Joseph Thorpe; two brothers, Robert Williams, George Williams, and three sisters, Ruby English, Joyce Yarborough, and Ramel Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, grands and great grandchildren ,   a son-in-law Charles Taylor and Anna Lyle who he embraced as his daughter.
