JAMES CORNELIUS THOMPSON, JR. son of the late James C. and Evelyn Thompson was born on December 12, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland. After a brief illness, he departed this life suddenly on August 24, 2021.

James, fondly known as "Will", "Jimmy", and "Chilly Will" received his education in The Baltimore City Public School System. At the age of 16, Will loved his first job, which was at the original Gino's in Timonium, Maryland. He later worked at The Harvey Construction Company, until he retired.

Will made his Holy Communion and Conformation at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Later in life, he faithfully attended Wilson park Christian Community Church. He also enjoyed attending services at several other Baltimore Churches.

Will loved spending time with his family, especially their bus trips. He enjoyed hand dancing, horseback riding, watching Westerns, wearing hats and telling jokes, especially his "bacon" joke. Playing Pinochle was one of his favorite pastimes. His favorite line was, "All Rise!"

Will knew everybody and everybody knew Will. He was known as The "Mayor" of Wilson Park. If anything happened in the community, he knew about it. He attended all of  the community events, celebrations, reunion and parties. he loved to get dressed up and be the "star" of any event and if you came across a picture of him, nine times out of ten there was a toothpick in his mouth.

Will was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Thompson; three children, Terita Sturtevant, Mark Thompson, Shelly Sturtevant; and close friend, Milton Heard.

Will leaves to cherish his memory, a posse of friends; his card playing buddies, Calvin and Valerie Brown; Wendell Speaks, his Attorney, Chuckie Eubanks; two lifelong friends, John AKA "Puddin" Thompson and Cheryl Dunston; a good friend, Wayne cash and an adopted mother, Esther Harried.

He is survived by three sisters, Shirley Gilliam (Verilee), Anita Thompson and Dorothy Harried (Herman); three brothers, Charles Slade (Eunice) and Horace Thompson; two daughters, Wanda Hill (Parren) and Nicole Rowlette; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a devoted and loving friend, April Cash and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
