James Paul Redmond , Jr. , better known to many as Jimmy, was born on November 28,1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late James Paul Redmond, Sr. and Ruth Redmond. He was the eldest of four children. After a lengthy illness, James peacefully departed this earthly life on October 18,2025, in Baltimore, Maryland.
James was united in marriage to Olivia Collins, and to this union three children were born: Gregory Duane Collins Sr., Paula Denise Redmond, and Robin Yvette (Redmond) Lincoln. Later in life , he was united in marriage to Debra Parham, and to this union was born one son, James Paul Redmond III.
James received his formal education through the Baltimore City Public Schools before enlisting in the United States Army, where he honorably served his country. Throughout his career, James held a variety of positions and, following retirement, continued to serve his community as as limousine driver for many of Baltimore's well-known elites, professional athletes, and city officials. As the patriarch of his family, James was known for his unwavering dedication and support. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and served as a father figure yo many whose lived he touched.
In his leisure time, James enjoyed traveling the world with his family and friends, fishing, and listening to jazz music. He especially loved going on cruises. James was a devoted husband, father , grandfather and friend whose life was defined by love, faith and service to others.
James was preceded in death by his father, James Paul Redmond Sr.; his mother , Ruth Redmond; his sisters, Vera Alford, Jean Redmond Lane, and Arlene Morton; and his beloved son, James Paul Redmond III but leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: three children, Gregory Duane Collins Sr., Paula Denise Redmond, and Robin Yvette Lincoln; one daughter -in-law, Sherri Collins; one son-in-law, Rev. Kevin Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Kiel McCoy, Brandon Barrow, Ebony Woodson, London Lincoln, Maurice Ward, Danielle Lincoln, Gregory Collins Jr., and Maurice Redmond; ten great-grandchildren, Gary Lee Hawkins III, Jabari Woodson, Jayla Woodson, Kennedy Harris, Kaylee Harrison, Zoe Hall, Bella Collins, Cade Barrow, Gregory Collins III, Saige Barrow, Zumey Mears and Isaiah Hill; one great-great-grandson, Amir Woodson; and a host of other adopted children and many nieces , nephews, relatives and friends.
James will be remembered for the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the countless memories he created. His legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
