James Edward Miller was born May 4,1968 to Ida E. and the late Jesse L. Miller in Baltimore, Maryland at Baltimore City Hospitals. He departed this life on May 14,2025 after a sudden illness.
James received his education with the Baltimore City Public School System, graduating from Lake Clifton High School in 1986. He also attended the Upward Bound program at Morgan State University.
In his early years, James was baptized and enjoyed church activities at St. Francis Xavier Church. In his later years, James made a Confession of Faith and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
James was affectionately known as “Jimmy “to most and “Jimi-Jon” (to family and early childhood friends).
Jimmy was employed at numerous companies including the Baltimore County DPW, Towson Ford, Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Wachs Water Services and Solo Cup companies to name a few. In the early 2000’s James also owned the “All About You” Variety Store. In 2014, Jimmy opened a Bail Bond company. Currently, he was assisting as a caregiver for his beloved mother whom he cherished dearly.
Jimmy always loved working with his hands. He would try to find a way to fix all kinds of things. If he could not find a regular way for a fix, he would use a “jackleg” method to fix it. He had a genuine passion for cars, especially exotic foreign cars. He was a lover of pets including Sassy, an American bulldog that followed him home one day. Jimmy enjoyed playing basketball, football, watching sports, playing board games and cards, playing harmless pranks, telling jokes, and always finding humor to make people smile and brighten their day. Jimmy had genuine loyalty to his associates. He was the kind of guy that if he did not like you, he did not mess with you. Jimmy possessed the “gift of gab” and would not hesitate to put it to the test with the ladies, often getting their phone numbers while sitting at a traffic light. Jimmy absolutely loved his children and his family. He would go beyond to protect and provide for them. If there was a problem, Jimmy would find a way to solve the problem. Jimmy was a great, fun-loving man with an infectious personality, charm, and wit. Family, friends, and associates alike will deeply miss Jimmy.
Preceding James in death is his father, Jesse L. Miller, and his brother Wade T. Miller.
James is survived by his four children, Symone D. Miller-Beverly (Ryan), Symirah Z. Miller, Christian D. Miller, and Kurt Ragin, three grandchildren, Dailen Beverly, Austin James Beverly, Tyson Beverly. Mother Ida E. Miller, three brothers, Jeston I. Miller, Anthony L. Miller, Sr (Linda). Duane A.
