James Edward Ferguson Sr., affectionately known as Ed, son of Virginia Cousins, and Wesley Ferguson (who preceded him in death) was called home to glory on 4/27/2021.
Ed was born in Appomattox, Virginia where he was educated, until he entered the United States Army as a paratrooper, at the age of 17.
Upon returning from Vietnam, Ed, served as a steel worker at Bethlehem Steel, and up until his late 60’s he moonlighted as a mechanic.
Ed loved his family, and all of the children anxiously stood in line, as he would put them up on his shoulders, and run them around like they were flying, while he made his signature “clucking” sounds.
Preceding him in death are brothers Robert Allen, William Alexander, Glenn Thomas, Leonard Earl, and Woodson Coleman.
Ed leaves to mourn his lifelong love since the ages of 8 and 9 Shirley Reed; five children, James Ferguson Jr, Raychelle White (spouse Garth), Shykia Ferguson, Glenn Ferguson, and Sierra Ferguson; eleven grandchildren; four living great grands, and two great grands due soon. Ed also leaves to mourn his four sisters, Dorothy, Ella (spouse Fred), Daisy, and Blanche; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who are left to mourn, but heal with the memories of Ed.
