HENRY LOUIS VANLANDINGHAM, was born on January 16, 1939 in Baltimore, MD. to the late Frances Elizabeth Stevenson and Henry George Vanlandingham. He resided in Baltimore mostly, moved to North Carolina briefly, then returned to Baltimore where he lived until he was called home. According to his doctor, he was a "walking miracle" and battled his illness better and longer than most, a sign of a true fighter.
"Louis" as he was affectionately known, attended and graduated from Baltimore City Public School. As a young man, he enjoyed singing on the Baltimore Boys Choir. In 1968, he married Barbara (Baby Sis) Thrower and from their union, they were blessed with one daughter, Angela Vanlandingham.
After many years of service, he retired from Bethlehem Steel. Louis loved spending time with his family and friends, both near and far, and he loved to travel. He enjoyed going to the casino, whether in Baltimore, Delaware, Colorado or aboard a cruise ship. He loved going to Las Vegas, taking cruises and car trips along the 95 corridor. Romano's was one of his favorite restaurants and he enjoyed watching the Baltimore Ravens play footbal. Henry Louis Vanlandingham was a genuinely good man and touched the lives of many. On November 25th 2020, after living a full lif, Henry was called home. He was preceded in death by both his parents, Frances and Henry; his wife, Barbara; his sisters, Helen and Brenda; brother; George; nephew, Gregory and his special friend, (Mary B. Bannerman).
His life will forever be cherished by his daughter Angela, (Brian Brown); sister-in-law, Ernesstine, Cecelia (Celie), Rochelle (Tit), Jasline (Tiny), Iram (Bitsy); brother-in-law, Glen (Pee Wee), Perry (Skinny) and Eric (Midget); special nieces, Marie, Frances, Karen, Vanessa, Ann and Beverly; special, nephews, Maurice, Kevin and Jimmy; Karen, Katherine and Rhonda, who he loved as his own; and a host of other family and friends.
