Harvey Calvin Wilkerson

HARVEY C. WILKERSON, son of the late Otis and Annie Lou Wilkerson, was born on April 12, 1930 in Granville County, North Carolina. He departed this life on June 16, 2020 after a lengthy illness.

He received his education at Granville County Public Schools. At the age of twenty three he enlisted in the United States Army and served four years. Harvey was employed at Comfort Springs and later became supervisor at Baltimore City Housing Authority where he retired.

Harvey joined Christian Baptist Church on August 20, 1986 and later became an ordained deacon. He not only was active in Church, but also in his community.

His enjoyable moments were talking to his neighbors and watching human nature movies.

He leaves to mourn: his loving wife of sixty seven years, Fannie M. Wilkerson; two daughters, Minister Bettie (Bishop Richard) Grimes, Cynthia McFadden Wilkerson; one son, Melvin (Carolyn) Stanley; seven grandchildren, Damenen Robinson, Latonya (Kevin) Cary, Richard (Monica) Grimes III, Georgette McCall Bennett, Shawnee Q.Lawrence, Harold W. McFadden Jr., Marquita (David) Mitchell; two sisters, Wilma Gregory and Catherine Wilkerson one brother, Zelotis Wilkerson; two sisters-in-law, Gurtha Davis and Mary Reed; one brother-in-law, Mac Arthur Royster; a host of nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren and great grand dogs, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
