We are celebrating the life of Harry James Johnson, who was born on June 10, 1957, to Mamie Johnson and Harry James Johnson Sr. He transitioned from this life on March 17, 2026. Since a child, he was given the nickname "Busta", by his oldest sister Harriett. That name stayed with him throughout his life. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age, Harry was also very knowledgeable about the practices of other religions and faiths. Harry was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools, earning his G.E.D. Harry also furthered his education and knowledge by completing various vocational trainings.

During his life he worked various jobs where he enjoyed working with his hands doing different construction jobs. Much can be said about Harry in the earlier stages of his life. For one, Harry loved school as a child, maintaining that level of excellence that his parents set forth for him and his sisters. That same excellence he instilled in two daughters. The love that he had for his daughters was infinity and beyond.

As he grew into a young man, he really loved playing sports, whether it was basketball or football. Busta loved to dress up and smell good, often showing up in something jazzy. To know him, was to love him. Throughout the years he enjoyed playing chess and watching all different types of sports. Busta loved to encourage people and you could often times find him talking to his family and friends. One of his most famous quotes was "touch times don't last, but strong people do. He later was encouraged by his father, Harry Sr., to go into cooking, where he enrolled in culinary art school, where he really became an outstanding cook. He loved getting into cook offs with his oldest sister Harriett.

Busta was the patriarch of the Johnson family, a role that he took very seriously. Enjoying and partaking in many family gatherings and events is what brought him great joy. In 2012, he met the love of his life Valerie Wallace. They shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. She was his peace, his joy, his safe space and his home.

Busta was proceeded in death by his parents Mamie and Harry Johnson Sr., sisters; Harriett Lee Johnson Fouch and Joann Charles; great nephews Ty-ree and D'angelo Cypress.

Busta leaves to cherish his memory his wife Valerie Wallace, daughters Danette Green and Ikeisha Johnson; granddaughter Aubrey Ancrum, sibling; Betty Jean Boulware; nieces, Shawanda and Tonica Peace; nephews Michael Charles-Bey (Karen) and Maurice Peace; great nieces Kalishia Bailey and Angela Stringfellow; great nephews Kenneth Aaron, Tyree Cypres Jr., and Chaise Cypress; forever and only best friend Elway Williams and a host of other relatives and friends.
