Harry M. Butler Sr.

HARRY M. BUTLER, SR. son of the late John W. Butler and Margaret Bedford Butler was born on February 8, 1924. He departed this life on Tuesday February 5, 2019.

Harry, affectionately known as Pop, George, George Love and Poppy was raised in East Baltimore and educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. Harry married the love of his life, Dorothy Jean Brooks on March 22, 1942. Harry and Dorothy celebrated sixty-nine years of marriage and upon that union seven wonderful children were born

Harry was dedicated to the care and up-bringing of his grandchildren. He made special memories with them by shopping at Van Dyke and Bacon, Robert Hall and Sammy's as well as extra special trips each year to the Maryland State Fair.

In May of 1950, he started his career with Armco Steel Company. When he retired from Armco Steel in 1986, he began a second career in church ministry. He served as an usher, a charter member of the New Horizon of Men.

Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy J. Butler and his oldest daughter Aloma V. Taylor(Lewis)

He leaves to cherish his memory; Harry Butler Jr., Sonja Owens (Eugene) Tanya Butler, Pia Butler, Celeste Butler and Avis Butler; his youngest sister, Mamie Simms; grandchildren, Pamela Massey, Vanessa Owens, Crystalyn Gaddy (Kirk), Paige Cooper (Gary), Parrish Taylor, Kevin Butler (Carleen), Brian Butler (Marissa), and Antoine and Aaron Butler; great-grandchildren, Ryan (Keslyn), Corey (Tynekia), Christopher, Chanae, Courtney (Alaya), Gia, Jonathan, Kirby, Kirk, Kahla, Marshall, Gabby, Ceceila-Jean, Patrick and Shane; great great-grandchildren, Kai, Kendall, Gianna, Jamal, Lincoln, Kody, Kooper, Kamden and Janae and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
