Gladys Ann Stokes

GLADYS ANN STOKES affectionately called Sissy was born on September 13, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Thomas and Alice Carrington. On Friday April 7, 2023, Gladys slipped peacefully into eternal rest at home following a brief battle with cancer. Gladys joined her parents, sister, Flossie (2015) and 2 children, Donna (2022) and Randy (1996) in heaven.

Gladys was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. Prior to retiring, she worked several years at Life Like Products.

Gladys was baptized and attended Nazarene Baptist  Church for many years.

Gladys was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Spending time with her family and friends brought such joy to Gladys life. She enjoyed entertaining and always looked forward to gathering with the family. Gladys loved listening to music, dancing and watching her favorite TV shows.

Gladys had a genuine spirit. There was nothing she would not do for you and she would never close her door to anyone. Gladys use to enjoy spending time out shopping and just hanging with her sister.

Heartache crept into Gladys life the loss of 2 of her children.

On earth, Gladys leaves to cherish her precious memories, 3 children, Kevin Stokes (Margaret), Renita Stokes and Reggie Fitch; 7 grandchildren, Bobby, Kevin, Bernard, Quanda, Kandis, Shamere and Amyia; 10 great-grandchildren, closest and devoted friend Ella " Barbara" Daye and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

All who loved her will deeply miss Gladys.
