George B. McCormick , Sunrise on December 18,1937 and Sunset on March 3, 2025 .He went comfortable at peace surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Virginia. He attended New Bethel Elementary/Middle School. Then Romoton High School where he played football.
After school he served in the United States Army from 1956 until 1958 . George moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1958 after the Army. He joined Zion Baptist Church.
He met his wife Juanita; they were married May 31, 1963 and married for 62 years . He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He started working for Bethlehem Steel where he dedicated forty-four years to the company of being a hardworking man. He retired in 2002.
He loved music and traveled occasionally playing the guitar with the band Clouds Of Joy.
George enjoyed watching and talking about sports with family and friends .He was a loving caring person with a big personality that will brighten up a room . His hobbies were fancy sports cars and wearing his baseball caps to the back. He enjoyed watching the lottery and will give you a number to play and how to play it . He loved spending time with his loved ones and he made everyone feel welcomed when visiting his home. He liked to have conversations with family about his childhood and adult life growing up . George will be remembered by his sense of humor, smile and personality .He was a loyal, dedicated man to his family. He showed us how a man protects, provides and he gave his family guidance when needed . He was a loving person and the definition of a strong great man.
He is now joined with his mother, father, brother, son and grandson.
He leaves memories with his wife Juanita E. McCormick; daughter, Margaret Adams; son in-law, Linvel Adams; son, Rick McCormick; brother, Louis G. McCormick; sister, Marybell McCormick; grandchildren, Deidra Brady; Duran McCormick Jr, Dwaine Taylor, and Shannon Sanders; great grandchildren, Jazmin Moody, K’Lynn Taylor, Madisyn, Duran 3rd, Nasir, Dakota McCormick, Tanasiah Davis, Anthony Woods, Dockiem, Dockiema and Jerimiah Rutherford; great great grandchild Ka’myre Abram; and a host of sisters /brothers in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
