They welcomed many people into their home and always enjoyed entertaining many family and friends with love and passion. They shared a special relationship. George encouraged family gatherings. He was always eager to attend family events, like graduations, family trips and parties. He made himself available whenever and however he could. He liked to joke and could be very playful with all, especially the children. George also loved a good plate of food. In addition to loving “Pat's food," he was known for his grilling skills. He could really cook tender, melt-in your mouth, delicious steaks. It was not unusual for George to pick up the phone and say “ What you doing? We’re just sitting out back. Come on over.”
George graduated from Merganthler (Mervo) High School where he learned the craft of bakery. Everyone loved his baked rolls. He also had a natural ability in the field of electronics and in the assembly of electronic items and carpentry.
George was a predeceased by a sister, Delervie Nadine Wells, and a brother Hervie Wilton Fletcher Jr.
In addition to his wife Patricia Fletcher, he leaves to cherish his memory one step-son and daughter in law, Aunttwon Johnson and Tina Marie Johnson; two sisters Clara Danette Fletcher-Scott and Mary Marie Dallas; one brother Dannie Hugh Fletcher and his wife Brenda Fletcher; and one sister in law Shirley Johnson; two step-sisters Aisha and Latricia Fletcher; George leaves to mourn him; nieces and nephews; Joseph, Lisa, Dwayne, Daria, Dannie Jr, Nia, Matthew, James, Jerrell, Marlin, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
