GARY LYNN HOLOMAN was born on July 5, 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland to Lynn Holman and Ruth Holman. His dear mother preceded him in death in 2022. It was in the somber afternoon of August 8th when he was called to rest with the Lord.
Gary was everyone's guy! His giving spirit and world-renowned hugs are forever etched into the hearts of those who love him. He was a devoted son, husband, brother, uncle, nephew and beloved friend.
Gary enjoyed watching his team, the Ravens, kicking it with family, hitting biker week with the fellas in his heyday, washing cars on a sunny day, having a nice cigar, staying on the phone with his brothers for hours (and hours) and shaking loose with a dance move to some good music. He was good for doing anything that meant having a good time and making lasting memories.
Lovingly known as "G-Man", Gary grew up in East Baltimore, where he forged his mark in the world with the support of his family, specifically his dear mother. Mama Ruth poured so much love and care into her only son. She murtured such a bond that she shined through each of Gary's accomplishments, starting with his educational foundation in Baltimore City Schools. Gary was a good student. He had minor hiccups that faded behind his athletic talents though. Gary played baseball, football and wasn't half bad at either one. He played on championship teams and ranked nationally. The notoriety of being a talented athlete did not deter his educational goals. He ultimately graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School, doing just what his mother encouraged him to do!
With some valuable influence and encouragement from his best friend Reggie, Gary had a longtime career in commercial trucking. He was proud to have opportunities to work in a field that he loved, proud to have his CDL certification and very proud to pay it forward. He became a "Reggie" to his brothers and friends who came after him by mentoring them through the process. He was so well-regarded at his career that he advanced to become a terminal manager for Quest Transport. His work ethic was unmatched. Gary pushed himself to work through his diagnosis, the epitome of a leader.
Through Gary's ebbs and flows of life, he was blessed to reconnect with his heart's desire Char-Lisa. No earthly force could deter him from solidifying his devotion to his love through marriage. Gary valued the fact that she loved him in all seasons, through any conditions, and without waiver. She absolutely served him as the balance of his crown. Gary's decision to seize the moment to be present in love, and value the life he had made it easy to stand confidently to marry his proclaimed soulmate. Lisa honored her husband to his last breath, being the loving bridge from life to glory.
Gary is survived by his loyal and dutiful wife Char-Lisa Holman, son Johnathan Holman, father Lynn Holman (Chantel), brothers, Barry Holman (Tina), Ronnie Holman (Nicole), Dwayne Holman, Len Tillman (Jenna), Leon Holman, mother in love Hazel Frink, sister in love, Julee Frink; godson, Chase Thomas, lifetime best friend Reggie Coston, he was bonus Pop to, Mariah, Vernon, Ivyanna, Ivan, Vann and Victoria. Loved by his village mamas, Doriszel Taylor, Barbara Paylor, Keshia Regis, Shirley Cain, Gwendolyn Howell, Cynthia Early and Dorothy Farmer, not to mention a whole heap of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He's now back in the loving bosom of his mother Ruth.
