GARRICK TAYLOR was born on November 22, 1959 to the late William Morris Taylor Sr. and Mary Louise Taylor in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the youngest of nine children. Garrick was raised in the Turner Station community of Baltimore County, where he formed lifelong friendships and strong family bonds.
He received his education in the Baltimore area school system and graduated from Patterson High School. After high school, Garrick proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he completed rigorous military training that instilled in him discipline, resilience, leadership, and an unwavering sense of honor. He served his country with pride and dedication. Carrying the values of the Marine Corps with him throughout his life. His time as a Marine allowed him to travel to different countries, an experience he treasured as he embraced new cultures and adventures that enriched his life.
Following his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, Garrick returned to Baltimore and attended Baltimore City Community College before entering the workforce. He dedicated himself to building a meaningful life and enjoyed a long and fulfilling career.
Garrick met Marguerite Richardson in 1986, and what began as a friendship blossomed into a deep and lasting love. Affectionately known as "Babe" to Marguerite and "Margo" to him, they were married on February 22, 1991. Marguerite brought with he a daughter, Angela, whom Garrick embraced as his own. In 1988, they welcomed their daughter Christine, affectionately nicknamed "Face", who resembled her father and brought him immense pride and joy. Garrick loved being a husband, father and grandfather, taking great joy in his family and cherishing every moment spent with them.
A devoted man of faith, Garrick joined Memorial Baptist Church and was baptized in 2001. He served faithfully on the Usher Board, Transportation, Kitchen and Outreach Committees, as well as in the Men's Ministry. In 2005, he was ordained as a Deacon, a role he fulfilled with humility, dedication and a heart for service.
Garrick, affectionately known as Gary or G-Money, had a vibrant and joyful presence that could light up any room. A lifelong sports enthusiast and former Junior oriole, he loved attending sporting events and had a passion for movies, traveling, reading, photography, jazz music and collecting Marine Corps memorabilia .
Gary cherished spending quality time with his wife, Margo, enjoying weekly dates and shared adventures. Fridays were reserved for their playful "Fish Fry Fridays, " a friendly cook-off between them. He delighted in taking Margo to work each day and creating special memories with his daughters, Angela and Christine shopping, attending Orioles and Ravens games, going to the movies, exploring museums and savoring crabs together.
On January 13, 2026, surrounded by his family and loved ones, Garrick received his angel wings and was peacefully reunited with his parents, William and Mary Louise Taylor and his siblings Joseph, Robert and William Jr.
Garrick leaves to cherish and honor his memory his loving and devoted wife, Marquerite Taylor, his partner in life and love; and his beloved daughters, Angela Gorham and Christine Taylor, who were the pride and joy of his heart. He is also lovingly remembered by his cherished grandchildren, Briana, Kiara, Cierra McGowens and Nicholas Gorham, each of whom held a special place in his life and brought him immeasurable joy.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Dorothy and Evon Taylor and his devoted brothers, Keith, Randy and Perry (Mary) Taylor, with whom he shared deep bonds of love, loyalty and family tradition. Garrick also leaves to cherish his memory his sister-in-law, Bernadette Richardson and brother-in-law, Eric Richardson.
In addition, he is fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by his warmth, generosity and un wavering love.
Though he is gone, Garrick's legacy will remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him and in memories that will never fade.
