Listen to Obituary

This Celebration of life is for Brother Freddie Fordham., born April 17, 1946, in Jamestown SC to the late Paul Fordham, Sr. and Maggie Lue Fordham. Also preceded in death are three siblings, Frances Matthews, Martha Daniels, and Paul Fordham Jr. and one nephew Darrell Fordham.  Freddie peacefully transitioned into eternal life with the Lord on August 20, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland. Freddie received his education in Berkeley County S.C. Shortly after leaving school, Freddie relocated to Jersey City, New Jersey in the Mid 60’s looking for a greater opportunity for which he found as a food warehouse truck driver. Freddie resided there for a few years before taking up residency in Baltimore in the mid 70’s for which he became a dump truck driver for Brice’s trucking company and continued to live there until his untimely death.

Freddie was a fun loving, outgoing person with a comedic personality. If you were having a bad day, Freddie would brighten it up just by his mere presence. Freddie had a caring heart too. He helped his sister, Mary M. Harper, care for their aging mother since 2001 until her death in 2020 at age 106. Freddie loved his family and especially loved hanging out with his nephews. Freddie had one son, Freddie LaMark Fordham, with whom he loved dearly and would have given him the world if he could. Freddie was not a perfect person, he had his share of struggles too, but he never gave up and he trusted God to see him through. Freddie gave his life to Christ at an early age but was never affiliated with any church. He believed, rightfully so, that God lives in him, and he is the church. When Freddie found out he was being placed in Hospice, he said “okay, I’m not afraid to die” but the next morning he woke up with a different attitude. He said I’m not afraid to die but I’m not going to let those people stop my heart; therefore, I’m not going in hospice and so he didn’t. When God is ready for me, He will stop my heart and take me with him and so he did.  Freddie went home to be with the Lord peacefully on August 20,2024.

Freddie leave to mourn his memories, One son:  Freddie L. Fordham, two sisters:  Mary M. Harper of Baltimore, MD; Rosa lee Fordham of Jersey City, NJ; two brothers: Eugene Fordham and Robert Fordham of Columbia SC.; Nine nephews, Barry Fordham, Maurice Fordham, Joseph (Vivian) Matthews, Terrell Fordham, Roberts Fordham Jr all of Baltimore MD.; David (Debra) Morrison of Columbia SC; Anthony Morrison Mooresville NC; David Daniels of Tampa Fl.; Cleveland Fordham SC, Six Nieces, Deloris Simmons, Emma Witherspoon, Celeste Matthews, Elaine Fordham all of Baltimore MD; Frances (George) McCord of Tampa Fl., Patricia Fordham NJ and a host of cousin, family and friends.
