FREDDIA DEAN MCCOY affectionately known to all as Dee-Dee was born in Airlie North Carolina to the late Freddie Lee and Mary Edmond on October 26, 1934.

At a very young age Dee-Dee and her family relocated to Baltimore, MD where she received her education at Baltimore City Public Schools. As a young woman Dee-Dee frequently attended Mount Zion Baptist Church with her mom.

In 1950, Dee-Dee married Oscar "Sonny" McCoy. Out of their union they had 4 children. She did everything with her children; cooking Sunday dinners, planning holidays, raising the kids, going to the grocery store, singing and dancing. You name it, they did it together.

The love didn't stop there. Dee-Dee was the matriarch of six generations of love. She enjoyed herself, always being the life of the party. She lived unapologetically and carefree. Always opening her heart and home to all. No matter where she lived anyone from the neighborhood could have a home with her. Dee-Dee loved to party with her grandchildren, always dropping life jewels on them all while keeping their secrets. Her bread pudding and rice pudding was a family favorite.

Dee-Dee worked as a barmaid for many years and could make any drink you wanted. She was well known on the bar scenes around Baltimore. Dee-Dee was a good time always.

Dee-Dee also was a part of "Just Cousins" where she traveled the world, creating family banquets, scholarships, funding tuitions or simply paying rent for anyone in the family.

Preceding her in death is husband, Oscar "Sonny" McCoy, brothers, James, Joseph and Milton and sisters, Delores and Crystal.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Theresa Richardson, Vanassa McCoy, William"Arab" McCoy, Charlotte McCoy (Mike), 22 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 24 great-great grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandchild; brother Ronald (Glen) of Boston and a legacy to be loved and cherished by all that knew and loved her. Fairwell Dee-Dee always the life of the party on earth and now forever in heaven.
