Frances Louise Williams, aectionately called “Pooney”, entered into God's rest on October 23, 2020. The youngest of her siblings Pooney was born on “Groundhog Day” February 2, 1945 in Baltimore Maryland to Frances and Grant Harris.
Pooney, was a most devoted and loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, mother and grandmother. Married to Julius A. Williams, Pooney was blessed with three (3) children her son, Jerey, daughter Tanya (who preceded her in death) and daughter Rhonda. Waiting for her on the other side is her mother Frances Terry, her sister Mary Jones and her two brothers Ralph and John Harris.
Pooney attended and graduated from Dunbar High School. She worked closely with her mother at the family’s Terry’s Carryout Sub Shop. Pooney also worked for the C&P Telephone Company for a short period of time before pursuing a career in government services. She retired from Baltimore City Social Services in 2007 after many years of service. Raised under the guidance of a strong Christian family (Royster) Pooney was introduced to Christ at an early age and was baptized in 1958 by Rev. J.R.Butler at the Mt Sinai Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland.
Pooney had the natural talent to sew. She loved fashion and enjoyed making outfits for special events. At family gatherings you could nd her settled in a serious card game or relaxing and enjoying good food. She was a master of the game show “Jeopardy” and enjoyed watching sports and especially tennis. She and her cousins would always compare notes about Serena’s performance. Her unique personality aorded her best friends like Linda, Mildred, Ethel and others who loved and supported her over many years of friendship.
Pooney was truly a great person whose impact will forever be felt by the family that loved her dearly and looks forward to seeing her again. A woman of a few stern words and much advice Pooney was seless with a tender heart for family and friends. Her will to love deeply, to sacrice, provide for and support others are lessons to all. Her passing has left a void in the family that no one else can ll. Pooney’s legacy and memory will live on in her son Jerey Williams, daughter Rhonda Curry; granddaughters Kiana and Jamilla, Tanae, and grandsons Donte’ and Juan J. Williams; great grandchildren, Jelanie, Jalen, Janiyah, Zoey and Taji Messiah Williams; a devoted niece Yvette Jenkins and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
