FANNIE L. TOLES, daughter of the late JAMES Henry Williams and Ophelia Kenlaw Williams, was born In Beauford County, North Carolina on May 7, 1928. She departed this life after a lengthy illness on January 7, 2017.

Fannie (Sister) was educated in Beauford County, NC and also attended Cosmetology School in Baltimore Maryland. She was employed with several companies before becoming a full time cosmetologist. Her biggest passion, starting at an early age, was doing hair. After receiving her Cosmetology License, she became a full-time Beautician/Entrepreneur. She was so passionate and determined that she opened and ran her own shop for most of her adult life until her health prevented her from doing so. She loved washing, cutting, dying and styling hair. You could not get up from the washing bowl until your hair was "squeaky clean!' Fannie had many loyal and loving clients, many of whom she considered family. It was common to have someone stop by the shop just to chat with her while she worked.

She married the late Henry Toles, Sr. They had a wonderful and blessed life together. She was a loving, spiritual and faithful wife. Fannie's love of hair was exceeded only by her love for the Lord. Until her illness, she was a faithful member of the St. Paul Community Baptist Church for over sixty three years and was one of its oldest members. She was a very active and faithful member who served on many auxiliaries. She was loved, cherished and adored by her entire church family.

She loved cooking, especially hosting holiday dinners. No one could resist her hush puppies. During her quiet time, she enjoyed watching TV and doing word searches.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughters, Amanda Hodges "Mandy", Bronzella Rochelle "Bron" Australia Fordham "Thalia", and Revilla Toles "Penny", two sisters, Ophelia Payton "Tynce" and Jannie Spruill "Neat" of Baltimore, one brother Arthur L:ee Williams "Lee" of Delaware; three grandsons, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, brother-in-law, Charlie Wilkerson; sister-in-law, Rosa Williams; best friend, Romaine Jenkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her loving husband, Henry Toles Sr. and her son, Henry Toles Jr. preceded her in death, five siblings, James, Oscar, Joseph Williams, Magnolia Wilkerson and Eva B. Pointer also preceded her in death.
