EVON ALEXANDER TABRON was born on December 14, 1950 to her parents Eva Alexander and Handy Crudup in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the "baby" of three girls, affectionately known to her sisters as "Bunny". She was raised by "her village" with strong values of faith, family, kindness and perseverance that would guide her throughout her life. At an early age she was baptized at the Memorial Baptist Church. 

Evon was a product of the Baltimore City School System. At Lombard Jr. High School, she met Betty Crest-Durant, Roslyn Chester and Dorothy Boulware who would become lifetime friends ("Old Dears"). Evon graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in 1968.

Evon had two loves in her life, other than family. At an early age, she was drawn to reading novels. She could complete sometimes 2-3 novels in a week. Her second love was creating fashion. She loved to sew and was known for her prom gowns for family, friends and neighbors. 

Her greatest joy was her son Shawn Harlee. A rambunctious kid, Shawn made her a better person. She was a devoted Mom. In 1986, Chante' was born. As a mother, her children described her as loving, firm and fair. In 2014, she became the excessively proud grandmother to Mia Evon, who affectionately called her "MaNa".

On Monday, August 10, 2026, she peacefully transitioned from this earthly life into eternal rest.

Evon was preceded in death by her parents Eva Alexander and Handy Crudup, and her son Shawn Harlee.

To cherish her memory are her daughter Chante, granddaughter Mia Evon, life partner, Charles Thompson. Also remembering Evon are her sisters Shirley Means and Barbara Allen; her aunt, Ann Douglas; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Venita) Tabron; niece, Raquel Boyce; nephew, Ronald Boyce, Jr.(Marian); cousins, Marvin Douglas, Sr. (Tervonia),Marvin Douglas, Jr. (Asia), Sarah Wallace, Bernard Pulliam (Carolyn), and Johnnie Mae Taylor; great nieces and nephews, DeRon Boyce, Jordan Merritt and Jazmyn Boyce; god-son, Torian (Ameenah) Henderson , and a host of other family and friends.

The love she shared, the memories she created, and the light she brought into our lives and others will remain forever.
