Ernestine Jones

ERNESTINE JONES, born June 11, 1937 to the parents of Grover and Callie Norris in Polkville, NC. A beloved wife to Herbert Jones, departed this life on December 2, 2024 after a brief illness.

Ernestine was affectionately known as Mama Tina to all that knew and loved her. She received a formal education in Baltimore City upon completion she started a career at Sinai Hospital as a Material Processor for 21 years, later retired to become a loving caregiver. Mama Tina expressed her immense love for the Lord and declared that love by being baptized. Mama Tina enjoyed traveling and made many friends during her travels. Mama Tina was an excellent cook and known for making her infamous "Rainbow Cake".

Ernestine Jones was preceded in death by her parents Grover and Callie Norris; sister, Elaine Harris; three children, Wanda Butler, Harrison Butler and Myra Butler, three grandchildren; Larry Jackson, Antonio Tracey and Corey Dyson; great grandchildren, James Lee Morton IV and Isaiah Butler. Mama Tina leaves to cherish her memory, husband Herbert Jones; three children, Catherine Giles, Desiree' Jackson, Kenneth Butler and Sharon Bean; two stepdaughters, Latonya Sherice Jones and Dashanda Jones; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousin.0
