MS. ERNESTINE ELAINE EASY was born on December 22, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Eugene Perlie and Minnie Perlie. She departed this life at Gilchrist Hospice Care at 6:20 a.m. on January 12, 2016 after a brief illness.
She received her education in Baltimore City Public Schools.
Ernestine worked for the Baltimore City Public School System until her retirement.
She met and married Nathaniel Easy in July 1983.
She was a member of Southern Baptist Church. She later left to join Memorial Baptist Church in July 2010.
Ernestine was known as Teenie by all who knew and loved her.
Teenie loved going to church, wearing nice hats, dressing well, and gathering with family and friends at all functions.
Her favorite saying at family functions was 'I gotta go check on something.'
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Nathaniel Easy; son, Jerome Gross; two sisters, Daisy Hester and Edna Mae Bowie; and four brothers, Johnnie Saunders, Edward Saunders, Robert Perlie and Alfred Perlie.
Ernestine leaves to cherish her memory: her brother, Elwood Perlie; sister, Mrs. Erma L. Spencer; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a very close niece, Gloria Saunders; sister-in-law, Marland Perlie; nieces, nephews, great, great-great, great-great-great-nieces and -nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
