ERNEST LEE MORGAN, the son of Ernest Lee Winston and Evelyn Morgan-Evans, was born January 12, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland. On June 14, 2024, God called him from labor to reward after a brief illness.
Ernest was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System.
Ernest was employed with Caplan Brothers Glass Company and retired in June 2023 after forty-seven years of dedicated service.
Ernest who was affectionately known as "Ernie", or "Baldy", was raised by Thomas and Evelyn Morgan along with his two oldest sisters, Theresa and Ianthony Morgan. Their mother instilled in her children to love and care for one another and to serve and fear the Lord. With the arrival of his younger siblings, Margo, Nina, James, Lynnette and St. Matthew, he became their advocate and protector. Ernest had a passion for raising and training pigeons. He also acquired a black belt in Tae Kwon-do. He loved spending time with his family and friends working in the garden, planting flowers. He was a jokester, always trying to make someone laugh at his jokes. He loved country and gospel music. His heart was so loving.
On September 5, 1972, after the sudden loss of his mother, his cousin Sister Elizabeth Grant asked her then Pastor, Bishop Winfield A. Showell if he might send someone to see about her children. So in obedience to his father a young Elder Cornelius Showell came to the Flag House Public Housing to minister to the children of Evelyn Evans. His love and concern for them continues to this day.
He became a member of the First Apostolic Church, taking the right hand of fellowship under the leadership of Apostle Cornelius Showell. He enjoyed attending Sunday School class with Elder Robert Hopkins and Elder Kimberly Showell, where he became a scholar.
Brother Ernest service to First Apostolic was invaluable. He served as a driver of the church van, taking the saints on engagements or picking them up or dropping them off for services. He arrived early to open and stayed late to close the church after services or rehearsals, He was also know as First Apostolic's "MacGyver", assisting with the maintenance of the church building and doing anything that was needed. He faithfully served as chauffeur to his Bishop and First Lady. He was willing to go the last mile to assist the saints whenever needed.
It could be said that love is better the second time around, on August 24, 2015, Ernest and Rosemary were married after many years of being apart. She has finally reunited with the love of her life. Ernest was a loving and devoted father of two beautiful daughters: Pamela and Krystal and one bonus son Tavon Robinson.
