Eloise Marlene (Winegan) Sutton was born on May 8, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Reverend Allen A. Winegan and Eva Lee Liggins Winegan. At the sweet age of 82, she looked up to heaven, smiled and transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 23, 2023.
Eloise received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She graduated from Frederick Douglass High School.
Her passion for helping others led her to a position as a Nursing Assistant at Union Memorial Hospital. After 41 years of dedicated service, she retired in 2006.
During her early years, she was raised in a very religious environment. She accepted Christ as her personal savior in her early twenties and attended various churches.
She married the late William Odell Sutton on September 15, 1984 and there were no children from this union. However, she raised her nieces and nephews like her own.
She enjoyed planting flowers, spending time with family and friends, talking on the telephone about the good old days especially with her nephew Richard and traveling with her husband. She had a flair for fashion and her favorite color was pink.
Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, William O. Sutton; six siblings, Charles Winegan, Anthony Winegan, E. Elaine Rogers, Ruth B. Jenkins, Madeline Winegan, and Carolyn Franklin.
Eloise leaves to cherish her fond memories: one brother, Norman Winegan; two brother-in-laws, Larry Jenkins and James Franklin; one sister-in-law, Joyce Winegan; special cousin, Shirley Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
