Elliott L. Rogers

Elliott Levon Rogers, son of the late Lee Rogers and Rose Marie Brown began life’s journey September 14, 1944 and he departed this life after a short illness on January 21, 2022.

Elliott, affectionately known as Bobby, was born in Suffolk, Virginia and at an early age he moved to Shulerville, South Carolina with his grandparents, William and Rosa Grissitt.

He was educated in the St. Stephen, South Carolina Public School Systems and at the age of 17, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland with his parents.

Bobby held several jobs and in the early 1970’s he was hired as a glass machine operator by Caldwell Glass Company, where he later retired after being a faithful employee.

On February 25, 1967, he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Sarah and they remained happily married until her departure for over 48 years. From this union they had three children, Elliott Jr. (Butch), Theresa and Donnell.

Bobby and Sarah were members of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, in Baltimore, Maryland. In his spare time, he loved to dance and watch western movies. He also liked to play cards including spades and poker. Bobby was a sharp dresser and always wore a matching hat.

He leaves to cherish his memory three children: Elliott Jr. (Butch) Rogers, Theresa Garner and Donnell Rogers; grandchildren: Destiny Rogers, Cierra Rogers, Elontre Rogers and Brearia Shuler; great-grandchildren: Tavon Reese, Shawn Haines, Ashanti Clinton, and Samarah Rogers; aunt, Clara Stanley; siblings, Gloria Murray (Gerald), Herbert Rogers (Gertie), Arleitha Gray and his sister Easter Grissitt who preceded him in death, as well as a host of other relatives, family and friends.
