“Let not your heart be troubled” -John 14:1

Evangelist Elder Elizabeth McCall, affectionately known to family and friends as “Sedonia,” peacefully departed this life on May 13, 2026.

Early Life and Family

Elizabeth was born on August 21, 1945, to the late Thomas and Marie McCall. She had four children: Tina, Luther, and Tony. Her eldest son, Frankie, preceded her in death." A graduate of Douglas High School, she was the youngest of five children. She is preceded in death by her three sisters and one brother.

A Life of Faith and Ministry

Elizabeth was saved at an early age. She believed in praying for her family and reading God's word. She worshiped and served at Perkins Square Baptist Church. Under the spiritual guidance of the late Reverend Yerby and the late Reverend Olge, she continued her faithful service at Perkins Square Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Cleveland T. A. Mason II. Under his leadership, Elizabeth accepted her calling to the ministry and was ordained as an evangelist, powerfully delivering her initial sermon. She later established a nursing home ministry where she preached at Forest Haven Nursing Home once a month and faithfully spread the Gospel on “Heaven 600”, touching many lives through the power of her testimony. Elizabeth later expanded her ministry and joined “Spirit of Faith Deliverance Church” under the leadership of Bishop Steven Jones, where she was ordained as an elder and continued to preach and serve the Lord.

Legacy of Love

Elizabeth truly loved the Lord with all her heart. She demonstrated God’s love through the fruits of the Spirit, always loving, ready to give and minister God’s word. Sharing the goodness of Jesus is what truly made her soul rejoice. Sedonia dearly loved her family, her pastor, his wife, and her many friends. She especially unconditionally loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to eat, take great pride in looking sharp and beautiful, and listen to gospel music; She knew how to cut a step. While we all had special moments with her, Tina, Luther, and Tony loved their mother. Her nieces and nephews loved it when they were young, and she would keep them over the summer in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where she lived, while fixing the best spaghetti and fried chicken. She left her memories to be cherished by her three children, Tina, Luther, and Tony, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren - one son-in-law and two daughters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. "The family wishes to express our profound gratitude to Ms. Dee, her caregiver, her Earthly Angel, for her love, compassion, and exceptional care.
