Edith Stinson was born on February 20, 1937, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Earnest and Lovelean McCoy. She was one of five children, along with her siblings Robert, Benjamin, Earnestine, and Norma.

As a young girl, Edith relocated with her family from Virginia to Baltimore, Maryland, where she grew up on the east side of the city. She attended Dunbar High School, where she developed a love for choir and artistic expression. During her junior year, she met the love of her life, Jimmie Stinson. The two were married after Edith graduated from high school and began building a life together rooted in love, family, and devotion.

Edith and Jimmie were blessed with four children: Jimmie Jr., Kenneth, Valerie, and Timothy. She was also a proud grandmother to Kirsten Foster, Brandon Stinson, Matthew Stinson, Jonathan Stinson, and Chloe Stinson, and a loving great-grandmother to Avery, Sydney, and London.

While Edith was primarily a devoted homemaker, she also worked as a housekeeper for the same family for 25 years. In every role she held, she brought care, consistency, pride, and a generous spirit.

In her spare time, Edith enjoyed reading romance novels and watching television, especially classic programs from the 1950s through the 1970s. She was an avid fan of soap operas, with Guiding Light being her favorite. She also loved fashion, shopping, and taking pride in looking her best, especially when getting her hair and nails done.

Family meant everything to Edith. She kept her children, grandchildren, their friends, and extended family close to her heart. Her home, her presence, and her love made people feel welcomed, remembered, and cared for.

In her later years, Edith relocated to California, where she fell in love with the outdoors, the beauty of the California lifestyle, and the joy of living close to family. She embraced this chapter of her life with warmth and gratitude.
