EARL JOHNSON SR., son of the late Charlie Pierce and Nell Johnson-Wade, was born on March 25, 1950. Although Charlie was his biological father. Linwood Wade, better known as Buddy Sugar raised him from birth. Earl departed this life, October 11, 2016 due to a lengthy illness. He was a devoted husband and a loving and caring father. His favorite saying was, "I have to take care of my wife!"

Growing up, Earl's mother always encouraged her children to do their very best, no matter they did.. To fall short of her satisfaction meant you would be performing your chores again until it was done right. Earl attended First Baptist Church with his siblings. As an adult he dedicated his life to Christ joining Rising Zion Baptist Church. Earl obtained his education through the Baltimore City Public School Systems and graduated from Fairmount High School. His hobbies included drawing, listening to his favorite music, but most of all he loved to read. Earl was known to read any magazine, book, newspapers and the TV guide even if they were outdated. He also had his favorite hangout places to frequent with his friends which were Chick Webb Recreation Center, The Coffee Shop and Wilco's Corner Store.

In his early twenties Earl began working for the Baltimore City Department of Public Works, there he spent many years. He later went on to work for the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel until his sunset. Earl was a dedicated hard worker, which led to receiving many nominations & awards for top performer.

Earl leaves behind several family members and friends to cherish his memory, his loving wife Shirleen Johnson, six kids and their significant others, Damon & Tesha Johnson, Ladawn Johnson & Michael Laurito, Prince Johnson, Earl Johnson Jr., Davon Adams and Tyrone Williams; grandchildren Ashley, Anthony, Davon and Skylah; five siblings, Patricia, Fay, Robert, Lenny and Nichelle; a host of in-laws which includes, Naomi, Clayton, Gwendolyn, Deborah, Karen, Kenneth, Maurice, Bobbie, Harold, Pam, Frank & Victoria; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We can't forget to mention his favorite cousin of all, Alphonso Dixon and his longtime friend Reverend P.M. Smith.
