DEWAYNE CHRISTOPHER REDDICK, son of Ellen C. Melton and the late Purcell L. Reddick, Sr. was born on September 14, 1961 in Wilson, North Carolina. He transitioned from this earthly life on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Along with his father, Dewayne is preceded in death by one brother, Purcell L. Reddick, Jr.

Dewayne was reared in Wilson County, North Carolina where he received his formative education from the Wilson County Public School System, graduating from Ralph L. Fike High School. After graduation Dewayne enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and later received an honorable discharge. Dewayne would then enroll in Rutledge College. Eager to expand himself, he entered the workforce and was gainfully employed in many areas of corporate America.

A loving son and brother, he followed his parents instructions and excelled at anything he did. In his spare time, he enjoyed visiting and loving on his family and friends. A kind and loving heart has now gone from labor to reward and will be remembered with love and adoration by all who remain.

Precious and lasting memories are left to be cherished by his loving mother, Ellen C. Melton of Wilson, NC; one sister, Ginna Reddick-Pippiens of Sims, NC; three brothers, Kevin A. Reddick of Elm City, NC, Marc T. Reddick of Wilson, NC, and Quintcin D. Reddick of Raleigh, NC; a host of other loving relatives, including a special cousin, Annette Rhodes; and friends including a special friend, Byron Colbert of Baltimore, MD.
