Dorothy R. Sewell

Dorothy RoseLee Sewell, daughter of the late Sterling Stanley and Florence Stanley, was born on February 3, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on June 24, 2025, after a short illness.

Dorothy attended Baltimore City Public Schools. From there she went on to work at Stella Maris Nursing Home as a Nurse Aid. Later, she attended the School of Cosmetology and worked as the manager of the Beauty Shop at Stella Maris.

Dorothy loved spending time with her family. She had a nickname for every grandchild or great grandchild she had. She spent most of her time at the casinos. Atlantic City, Delaware or Live; you name it and she was there.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her mom and dad (Sterling and Florence Stanley), one sister (Bernice), four brothers (Eugene, Leroy, Warren, and Albert), her one and only son (Joseph), and special granddaughter (Shanne).

She leaves to mourn: three daughters, Wanda, Lisa, and Mia; one brother, Sterling; one sister in-law, Shirley; sixteen grandchildren; special nephew and niece, Carl and Paula; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
