DOROTHY JEAN MADISON, daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy Jean Addison, was born on March 26, 2024 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Jean as she was so commonly called, received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She continued schooling focusing on biblical education, graduating from The Family Bible Institute in 1982. Continuing on , Jean received her diploma and accreditation from the Philadelphia School of the Bible.

During her working years, Jean held various positions. The longest being Lead Radiology Secretary for Johns Hopkins Hospital from where she retired in 1999, after 29 years of service. Following retirement, she continued working by volunteering for Hopkins-Henderson Youth Daycare.

In 1954, Jean Married William Roberts and later Harold Madison.

Jean gave her heart to the Lord and began attending Rising Zion Baptist Church in 1978, being received into membership in February 1979. During her membership, she held a number of positions within the church and was cheerfully dedicated to each. Jean served as a Deaconess, Missionary, Nurse, Sunday School Teacher, member of the Pastor's Aide., Mass and Senior Choirs and Anniversary Committee to name a few. At various times, she was president of a ministry or chairman of a committee.

Jean's number one passion was serving Christ. She loved to spread the gospel and teach the word of God to all she would come in contact with. When she was not in service, she loved to shop! She frequented malls, shopping outlets and could outwalk the average person through a flea market on a nice day. Jean had a taste for nice things on a small budget. She enjoyed reading, writing letters and collecting elephants. Jean loved collecting elephants. She was always there for anyone who needed her and would exercise every resource to help. Jean was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.

Jean was preceded in death by her two sons: Richard M. Roberts and Myron A. Pitts.

Jean leaves to mourn her daughter Towanda D. Jennings; stepson, Harold; stepdaughters, Jackie and Cookie; son-in-law, Charles Jennings; sisters, Carolyn Chase and Cynthia Fowlkes; brothers, Henry Addison and Ronald Addison; seven qrandchildren; Richard, Robert, Jamhl, Myron, Loraya, Kimberly, and Myra; fifteen great-grandchildren and a vast host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Jean will be deeply missed and forever loved. She is at peace knowing she is finally resting with her Lord an Savior.
