Listen to Obituary

DORIS (LYNCH) WEATHERBE, was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Helen (Mickey) Redd and the late Wllie James (Dabney) Lynch on June 14, 1931. She died after a lengthy illness at the age of 90.

Doris was reared in a God/loving Christian home where she learned the first great lesson, who she was and whom she was. These early teachings lead her to accept Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and savior and kept her on a life long quest to do his will towards family, friends and the world at large. Doris was baptized and became a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Cliford Johnson. She later transferred her membership to Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Marshall F. Prentice on December 6, 1992.

Doris received her early education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Doris was known as "Sissie to her family and friends.

Doris Lynch married the late Leroy Weatherbe from Tillery, North Carolina, but raised here in Baltimore City. From this union there were two daughters, Helen Lynch, (A.K.A.Cakie-who preceded her mother in death) and Marilyn (Weatherbe) McNair.

Doris was known as "Sissie" by her family and friends. She said, I love to cook because, I love to eat. Doris loved cooking and feeding family and friends. She was an excellent cook. Doris loved children. She was a licensed daycare provider for over thirty-one years for the State of Maryland. She loved to travel, she enjoyed going to BINGO until her health started to fail. She loved listening to country and oldie but goodies music and watching westerns. Doris loved being with her family and friends. She helped raise her grand and great-grandchildren. She spoke what was on her mind, no hold cards. Doris made friends wherever she went and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves her loving daughter, Marilyn (Weatherbe) McNair (Willie); two sisters, Melinda (Red) Harris and Carolyn Redd Dorsey; one brother, William Stanton (Elaine); three grandsons, Rodney Sean Lynch (Nikia), Rodrick Corey Johnson and Tyrone McNair, Sr.; seventeen great-grandchildren, Shanterra (Johnson) Gaters (Albert), Paris Jones, Neamyera Davis, Shanay Lynch (Jamilla), Marquise Lynch, Ke'Sean Lynch, Rodrick Johnson, Jr., Tyrone McNair, Jr. (preceded her in death) wife, Carleeta (Knight) McNair, Kendrick Johnson, Tyree McNair, Raneecha Hope, TyJuan McNair, Desmond Johnson, Unique Richardson, Seanae Lynch, Tyrin McNair and Tyah McNair (Twins); five great-great grandchildren, Jayden Askew, Payton Gaters, Kobi Judd, Grey Lynch and Ciara McNair; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, Christiana Parrish, her church family (Zion Baptist Church) and friends.
