Doris E. Fitzgerald, daughter of the late
George Washington Jones and Mary Alexander Jones, was born June 6, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on April 14, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

Doris was aectionately called "Reds" by family and friends. She graduated from Dunbar High School. In the early 1960's, she became employed at City Hospital, now known as Johns Hopkins Bayview. Doris gave her life to Christ at an early age at the People Church, now known as Memorial Baptist Church.She was a member of the Women's Choir, Gospel Choir, Women's Chorale and Senior Choir.

Reds had a beautiful personality and was loved by everyone.She also loved line dancing, playing bingo, singing her favorite hymn, "I Must Tell Jesus", and talking on the phone.

Doris was joined in holy matrimony on February 15, 1949 to her long time sweetheart, George R. Fitzgerald. From this union, they had seven sons. Four sons preceded her in death, George, John, Gregory and Eric.

She leaves to cherish her life, ve sons, Gary, Steven (Celia), Keith, Larry and Reginald; two daughters, Ponda and Nita; one adopted daughter, Bernadette; niece, Phyllis; three sisters,
Roberta Harrington, Catherine Quetta Richardson, Mary Ann Davis; forty-two grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, other relatives, friends and two
special friends, Emma Pembroke and LeGrant Branch.
