On January 30, 1954, God gifted us with Doris May Barnes. She was born to the loving parents of the late Lawrence A. and Eveolean R. (Pitts) Joyce.
Doris responded to her heavenly Father’s call to “Come Home” on September 25, 2024.
“Doris was a proud graduate of the Baltimore City Public School Systems. She continued her education at the University of Baltimore, earning her college degree.
Doris dedicated thirty-eight years to the Social Security Administration, retiring in November 2011.
Known for her warm smile, Doris had a deep love for her family, friends, and a passion for travel. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, bright presence, and The joy she brought to everyone around her.”
Doris was preceded on her journey by younger sister Paula, younger brother David, older brother Lawrence Jr., and older sister’s Jean and Carolyn.
Doris leaves to cherish her life: nieces, Lawan (Cornell) Bell and Patria Smith; nephews, Lawrence (Latoya) Durant, Tavon (LaKeisha) Thomas, James Dingle and Lee Allmond; and a host of great nieces and nephews, friends, and other relatives.
