Dora S. Greene

April 2, 1945 — December 5, 2021

Listen to Obituary

Dora was born on April 2, 1945 to parents Ledonia and Weldon Harrington in Rockingham N.C. She received her education in the Baltimore City School System. She retired from Johns Hopkins Hospital after 37 years of employment. Numerous friends who affectionately knew her as Grandma loved her. Dora loved enjoyed laughter, fun, and spending time with family. Her feisty attitude along with her compassion made the perfect blend of love. Always displaying care and concern for her siblings, family, and others as well. She peacefully transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on December 5, 2021.

After Dora retired, she focused on making sure family knew that togetherness came first. She always had an ear for listening to others and giving the best advice she could give. Dora resilience gave her the strength she needed to accomplish whatever goals she set. She prided herself on doing things on her own with minimal help. She was indeed the “my way, my say, or no way at all” and would move you out of her way to get the task done. In her spare time she enjoyed walking, talking on the phone, and crossword puzzles. She absolutely enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows such as Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal, Maury, and LMN with her granddaughters Angelica & Azauriah. The icing on her cake was playing pretend Spider Man with her “Old Man” (her grandson Zakauri).

Our Queen wore her crown with honor and when she gained her wings, she left many behind to honor her legacy. She will truly be missed by all.

Dora leaves to cherish two children Timothy Greene (Wanda Greene), & Kimberly Greene; 7 grandchildren: Angelica Greene, Duane White Jr., Timerra Greene, Dante Cornish (James Cornish), Kenyon Greene, Justin Greene, & Kamari Booker; 6 great-grandchildren: Dezyre White, Azauriah Greene, Wayne Mitchell lll, Zakauri Greene, Ariah White, & Wynter Wrylee Dora Mitchell (Arriving Soon); 3 sisters: Peggy, Vivian, & Patricia, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ledonia Harrington (mother), Timothy Greene Sr. (husband) John Harrington (brother), Tyrone Gladden (brother), Mildred Clark (sister), & Glenda Greene (daughter) preceded her in death.
