Donna Michelle Stokes was born on November 6, 1969 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Herman Drummond and Gladys Stokes. On Saturday October 22, 2022, God found in his infinite wisdom to call Donna home to eternal rest.
Donna was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her children and grandkids were the joy of her life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She enjoyed entertaining and knew how to get the party started. She always looked forward to celebrating birthdays especially for her grandchildren and her mother. Decorating was one of Donna’s specialties. She would plan the decor, and make sure that everything was beautiful for family and friend events. One of the highlights was gathering with family and friends. Donna was a straight shooter and held no punches.
Donna was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. For the past several years she worked at Market Place Apartments. She spent most of her career at Deaton Specialty Hospital for more than 10 years as a food service specialist preparing meals for patients, visitors and staff where she was loved and adored.
Donna leaves to cherish her precious memories, 3 children; Bernard Jones, Quanda Jones, Shamere Ridley. Six grandchildren; Sean, Khamari, Ce’Neyiah, Briella, Syion, and Harlee. Mother, Gladys Stokes; sisters; Renita Stokes, LaTonya Drummond, Demetria and Davonne; brothers; Kevin Stokes, Reggie Stokes, Randy Stokes (preceded in death). Margaret Stokes sister-in-law; bonus sister; Tawana Brown (Ronnie); bonus brother; Darnell Stokes (Danita); life partner James “Gazzard” Dukes; closest and devoted friend Darlene Fenner, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Donna will sorely be missed by all who loved her.
