Doniel A.
McBurroughs
May 3, 1979 — Feb 11, 2026
Doniel Aaron McBurroughs, beloved son of Paula Victoria Brockington and Carl Arthur Brockington, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 3, 1979. He passed from this life on February 11, 2026.
For five months, Doniel grew in his mother’s womb with his identical twin brother, Loniel. When they came into this world, Doniel was the second to arrive. He weighed 2½ pounds. The doctors told his mother that he only would live to be thirty-something. God blessed Doniel to live 46 years and 9 months. Doniel’s time was in God’s hands.
Donny, as he was affectionately called by his mother, had Lowe Syndrome, a rare medical condition that affected his eyes, brain and kidneys. He was loved, cared for and raised by a patient, kind, fun and “on-top-of-everything” mom and dad. He was happy and content throughout his life. Donny had many special teachers, family members and friends to share in his journey. He attended the Maryland School for the Blind from the age of one year old until he graduated at the age of 26. The staff and teachers loved Donny at the School. None of them wanted him to leave when he graduated. They nicknamed him “French Fries” because that was his favorite food; but only McDonald’s French fries.
Donny was not a “people” person. He was a “family” person. He was inseparable from his brother, Moe. Moe is two years older than Donny; and where you saw Donny you saw big brother Moe right there beside him… watching over him. And mom and dad were always nearby, watching over them both.
Oh the things that Donny loved. He loved family reunions and vacations, especially staying in hotels. His week-long trip to Myrtle Beach with the School for the Blind was a dream come true for him. He loved attending The League for the Handicapped, a medical daycare where he bowled and danced at the parties. He often was the first one on the dance floor in his wheelchair. He loved to sing Chris Brown songs with his mom. He liked football, but only the “mess-ups” when the players fell down or ran into each other. Donny got good laughs out of that. And he loved television game shows. His favorite was “The Price Is Right” and you’d better not get in his way when he was watching his show or he’d quickly give you the signal to “MOVE”. His favorite color was blue, his favorite holiday was Christmas because he loved opening his gifts.
Donny was a young man of physical strength and inner courage. During his recent illness andhospitalizations he fought hard through numerous surgeries and procedure until God called him home. Donny’s twin brother has been in heaven since he was ten months old. As of February 11th, the two of them, Lonny and Donny are back together again. The Lord be praised.
Donny also was preceded in death by his favorite uncle, Uncle Penna. Donny passed away on Uncle Penna’s birthday.
Doniel leaves to cherish his memory: his mother Paula Brockington; father, Carl Brockington; brother, Clifton (Moe) McBurroughs; aunts, Theresa White and Wanda Washington; uncles, Bernard White, Johnny White, Bruce White and Darryl White; niece, Nakita Robinson; Godmother, Shirley Stanley; devoted caregiver, Robin Riddick; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
