Donald Jackson better known as Jack, son of the late Harrison Jackson and Madeline Vanlandingham, was born on April 23, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on August 9th, 2020 after a lengthy illness.
He received his education at Baltimore City Public Schools, where he later obtained his GED. At 17, he entered into the United States Air Force where he served as an Air Policeman for the Vietnam War. In 1963, he received an honorable discharge after serving his country. He was employed by the B and O Railroad, Department of Public Works Water Treatment Plant and later transitioned to a DPW construction worker where he retired after being employed for 25 plus years.
He married Barbara J. Jackson and out of this union were 6 children, Clarissa, Charles, Marguerita, Barbara, Catherine and Terri. Later in life he met Cordelia Jones and out of this union were 2 children, Markita and Marisa.
Jack made numerous friends wherever he went; most importantly he was known to be a stand-up guy who was a ball of fun. He enjoyed partying, dancing, music (jazz was his favorite), shooting pool, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, collecting vinyl records and spending time with his loved ones.
Jack leaves to mourn his daughters,Terri Jackson and Markita Jackson; four stepdaughters, Clarissa Cavanaugh, Marguerita Cavanaugh, Catherine Jones and Marisa McGee; one stepson, Charles Cavanaugh; two sisters, Inez Prettyman and Doris Stanley; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Jackson (Richard), Shirley Jackson (William), and Courtney Oram; one brother-in-law Jerome Stanley; granddaughter, Maliyah Jackson (whom he shared a special bond with); grandson, Prestyn Westmoreland; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; his life long friend Cordelia Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death, Mother Madeline Jackson; sister Gwendolyn Curtis; brothers William and Richard Jackson; wife Barbara J. Jackson; stepdaughter Barbara Ann Cavanaugh; and grandson Jermaine Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
