IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diane
Bell
February 22, 1957 – February 5, 2026
On February 5, 2026, at 3:37 A.M. Diane Bell departed this life at Autumn Lake at Arlington West Health Rehabilitation Facility, 3939 Penhurst Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215. Diane was born on February 22, 1957, to the late Edgar Lee Bell Sr. and Betty Lee Bell.
She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Eastern High School. After High School, Diane immediately began her employment career. A few years later, she had a handsome son, Gamell Antonio Jenkins, born September 21, 1977.
She was nurtured in a Christian home and, at a young age, accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized in Jesus name and received the precious Holy Ghost at First Apostolic Faith Church, 27 South Caroline Street, Baltimore, Maryland. She was an active member of the church. She later joined the New Shiloh Baptist Church under the Dynamic Leadership of the Late Dr. Harold A. Carter, Sr.
She later married Mr. Ishmael Paige and as years passed, they eventually divorced. Over time, Diane found herself spending more and more time with her grandson, Malikai J. Jenkins, her nieces and nephews. You could often find her babysitting them, sharing her favorite foods like cheesesteak subs or Monument Street chicken boxes with fries or better yet, giving extra candy before they went home. She loved shopping and styling all of her loved ones and quickly became known as the “Fun Aunt” amongst her family and community.
Diane worked at Popeye Chicken for a couple of months, located on Orleans Street in Baltimore. She then worked at the Baltimore City Yard as a Security Guard for several years and later transferred to the Mondawmin Mall in Baltimore, MD, as a Security Officer for 18 years, where she became a good friend with Ms. Bernadine Tobine. As time passed, Diane had to relinquish her duties as a Security Officer due to her declining health. Diane reached out to her dear sister, Bishop Dr. Deborah A. Bell-Moore, to designate her as her Personal Representative through her Lawyer (Attorney Frank G. Lidinsky). Diane knew she could trust and depend totally on her sister with “ALL” her personal matters.
Those who knew and loved Diane truly cherished her easy-going and carefree personality. Diane loved so many people. But she had a special love for two people besides her son and grandson: her cousin, Dr. Leroy (Smacky) Nickles, MD, and her niece, Danielle D. N. Robinson. When Smacky became a doctor, you would have thought it was Diane herself who finished college. She was so proud of him and all of his hard work. Likewise, Diane regarded Danielle D. N. Robinson (Niece) as a daughter she never had. She loved all her relatives, especially the children of the late Uncle James, Aunt Millie, Aunt Mary, Aunt Vick, and Cousin Lottie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings in eternal rest.
Diane leaves to cherish in her memory her son, Gamell Antonio Jenkins; her grandson, Malikai Jeremiah Jenkins; four brothers, Henry Trogdon Jr. (Rita), Tyrone Bell (Jackie), Edward Bell, and Allen Bell; two sisters, Shirley D. Bell-Gray and Bishop Dr. Deborah A. Bell-Moore, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Bettye Murdock Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones. Special neighborhood friends, Mrs. Cynthia Lacey, Phillip Trustee and family, Gail Maddox and family, Carmon Jones and family, Mrs. Highsmith, Mrs. Leola Liggins, Mother Pearl Kennedy, Patrice Ross-John, Patsy Carson-Martin, and Rev. Lue Cobia.
Diane really touched many lives and truly will be missed by all.
