Deacon Dennis Curtis Stith, Jr., affectionally know as " Mighty Cloud" was born April 12, 1952, in Washing, D.C., to the late Dennis Curtis Stith, Sr. and Susie Ellen Richardson Hill. He peacefully transitioned from this life on October 17,2025, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Christ was always central in Dennis's life. At the tender age of twelve, he was baptized at Florida Avenue Baptist Church. He attended public schools in Washington, D.C., where his rich and soulful voice made him a soloist in the choir at Elliot Junior Hugh School.
Before joining the U.U. Army in 197, Dennis completed a Naval Oceanography Course as a technician at the Naval Yard in Washington, D.C. After returning from active duty, he welcomed his beloved son, Dennis Thomas , in 1972. Later, he relocated to Baltimore, where he built a prosperous life. There, he met a " special friend", Yvonne Thompson, and together they lovingly raised four children. His years with his extended family blessed him with the joy of being an honorary ' Granddaddy" to eleven grandchildren.
Dennis worked in both clerical and construction roles over the years. During his military service, he served as a clerical assistant for active duty and reserve units. As a construction laborer, he took great pride in contributing to Baltimore City's renovation projects-- helping transform old structures into beautiful, livable townhouse and apartments.
Anointed by the Holy Spirit and gifted with a powerful singing voice, Dennis shared his talent through gospel music across many churches in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Later in life, he became a devoted member of New Victory Christian Church in Perryville Maryland, where he ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of Pastor Reginald M. Shepherd.
Dennis was proceed in death by his parents; his loving aunt who reared him, Olivia Harris-Brown (George); his maternal grandparents, Clara and Wallace Richardson; and his paternal grandparents, Othellua and Virginia Peete Stith.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his beloved son, Dennis C. Thomas; one sister , Carolyn Carroll; three brothers, Reverend Don A. Stith (Reverend Cheryl); Keith Sith (Renee); and Melvin Claiborne (Jacqueline); two aunts, Dorothy Featherson and Francis White; one uncle, Wallace Richardson; and a special god-brother, Gartson Banks (Winnie). Also dear to his heart were Yvette Thompson, Marvin Thompson and Michael Thompson, all of Baltimore, Maryland; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends wo will forever remember his kindness,. humor, and unwavering faith.
