David A.
Plunkett
September 24, 1951 – April 10, 2026
DAVID AARON PLUNKETT, along with his twin sister was born to Rodger and Mable Plunkett in Baltimore, Maryland on September 24, 1951. On Resurrection Sunday, he accepted Jesus Christ by inviting him into his heart.
Known to his friends as "Avon", David attended Baltimore City Public Schools and was a graduate of Dunbar High School. After high school, Avon worked for Maryland Drydock for over 30 years.
Avon was a quiet person who always had a smile to share and a warm greeting to everyone whom he met. He was a giver and supported the seniors in his apartment building, especially at Christmas by giving many of them coffee cups filled with candy and calendars for the new year. Whenever you saw Avon, he had a hat on his head. He enjoyed listening to old songs as well as watching old western movies and sports, especially golf and bowling. However, his favorite activities involved playing chess and pinochle.
His parents and older brother (James) preceded him in death. Avon leaves to mourn one son, Dwayne; two daughters, Tawann Eggleston (Steve) and Corie McNair; three sisters, Mary, Diana and Arlene; three brothers; Everett, Jerome and Roger (Debora); three grandchildren; Steve, Jr., Dwyane, Jr., and D'Juan; a dear friend, Denise Holloway; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins
