Dana L. Brown

Dana Lynn Brown was born February 9, 1968. He was the eldest child of Jennifer Jones. He departed this life on December 9, 2023 after a lengthy illness. Dana gave his life to Christ at an early age at The United Baptist under Rev. Vanderford and then joined Shining Star Baptist Church under Rev. Toliver Perkins in the 80’s. He later joined Israel Baptist Church where he worked in the Security Ministry.

Dana affectionately known as “fingers” to his basketball friends, received his education in the Baltimore City Public Schools. He graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational High School where he played Varsity Basketball and majored in Auto Mechanics. Dana worked at Whittenbach Coin and Becton Dickinson for well over 30 years.

Dana loved sports and enjoyed playing basketball especially with his ASHLAND RUNNERS basketball team: "Big Pete“Gloves”, “Scooter”, and “Poobie”. They traveled around Baltimore playing basketball during the summer and winter. Dana was also a Die Hard DALLAS COWBOY fan and could be seen wearing their clothing daily along with his PROPHET SPORTS GEAR. Dana was well loved throughout the community and would do anything for anyone if asked. He will truly be missed.

Dana leaves to mourn his mother, Jennifer C. Jones, one son, Demarco Brown, one Daughter Chatera Walker, 3 Brothers; Edrick Brown Sr., Anthony Magwood and Damien Jones, 2 sisters; Sheila Walker and Tamika Kitrell, Special Cousins; Ed Saunders & Robert Maxwell, (Fannie Mae Grandkids) Ronette Jarvis (Kevin), Donna Jones, Carisa Bishop (Samuel), One special Aunt Willie Mae Magwood who we affectionately call Ms. Sis, 5 grand children, 10 nephews, 6 nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends. His special bond will live forever with Mike Austin, Marvin (George) Redd, Avery Walton, Gregory (Big Pete) Cawthorn, Nathan Ayers, Eric Spence , Joe, his Barber, Cherise Stewart, Thomas (Poobie) Hamilton, Dante Moore, and Jackie Hinton
