Cornelius "Jake" Jeffreys

Cornelius James Jeffreys, (AKA) Jake or “Jake the Snake”.

He was the tenth child of the late Walter and Clara Jeffreys and was born on July 25, 1961, in Baltimore Maryland. He departed this life on April 11, 2018, from a lengthy illness.

Jake received his education in the Baltimore City Public Schools.  Jake had numerous jobs, a custodian, security and for many years he was an assistant to one time Senator Larry Young, until his illness.

Jake was a cool type of person with personality and a somewhat humorous demeanor.  He was also a talented design artist and great at barbering.  Jake loved cutting and grooming for his many clients. Jake loved basketball and was a very talented player, often throwing kisses at his opponents when he made a shot.  He played many league games throughout Baltimore City and accumulated many trophies. His dream was one day to be become an NBA player.

In 1996 his bundle of joy was born, Alicia Jeffreys, whom he loved very much.  Jake also loved and cherished his family.

Jake leaves to mourn, his daughter Alicia Jeffreys; seven brothers, Walter Jr. (June), Melvin (Tootie), Zachary, Gregory, Victor, Maurice, Bryan and Richard who preceded him in death, four sisters, Sheree, Arlene, Carolyn and Clara; one uncle Stanley; two aunts, Gloria and Olivia; three sisters-in-law, Janie, Friday and Nancy; two brothers-in-law, Barry and Freddie; sixty-three nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends. Also a very special and devoted friend Carolyn Wilson.

Jake, we will always carry you in our hearts and cherish the memories.
