CHARLES BENJAMIN SWANN, was born to the late Georgia Stephens, May 3, 1940 in Mount Vernon, New York. He moved to Baltimore, Maryland at an early age and graduated from Dunbar High School. On October 7, 2015 he departed this life from a lengthy illness.

In 1968 he married Ledell Smith, from this union they were blessed with two children; Charles and Anitra Swann. Charles was devoted to his family and loved to spoil the grandchildren with his 'special treats'- that's his way of saying junk food. Early Saturday mornings at the Farmers Market was something he looked forward to every week.

Charles was employed with Raytheon Communications for 21 years, where his smile and gentle spirit was respected and loved by many. He enjoyed to talk about all sports, but his favorite would be the Baltimore Ravens

Charles gave his life to Christ at an early age. In 2007 he became a member of Delightful Blessings Church where the Rev. Earleen W.F. Henderson is the Pastor. He loved to listen to gospel and enjoyed the group Lee William and the Spiritual QC's with his favorite song being 'You Didn't Have to Wake Me this Morning'.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife Ledell, of 47 years; one son, Charles K. Swann; one daughter, Anitra Swann; one daughter-in-law, Rhonda; three grandchildren, Jamal Wilkins, Kevin Swann and Kelsey Swann; one great-granddaughter, Jade Wilkins; one aunt, Pearl Bethea; four sisters-in-law, Betty Rogers(Baltimore,MD); Marian McFadden(Baltimore, MD);Ozebell Dickey and Pearline Rogers(Lynchburg, SC); two brothers-in-law, Dan Smith and Phillip Rogers(Lynchburg, SC.); a dedicated friend Mr. Grimes and a host of relatives and friends.
