ELDER CHARITY HOPE MILLER, a virtuous woman of God, devoted mother, grandmother, beloved daughter and sister and cherished friend to many, earned her wings and took her place with the Most High Lord on August 19, 2026. Following a brief illness, she transitioned peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family and members of the CRL Ministries pastoral family.

Charity was born on January 3, 1964, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Gloria and Ernest Johnson. She was the ninth of their ten children and the first daughter to arrive after eight sons.

Charity attended Baltimore City Public Schools. After high school she attended college and several specialty training programs. She was employed as a medical biller for over 30 years with Chesapeake Urology and Johns Hopkins where she advanced to the supervisory level.

For more than 38 years, Elder Miller faithfully and selflessly served as a member and elder of The Church of the Redeemed of the Lord (CRL). She loved her Bishop, her church, and her church family dearly. Her life was characterized by a deep devotion to the Word of God. She spent countless hours studying Scripture, mentoring believers, leading prayer, encouraging others and supporting the ministries of the church.

Her life of service can perhaps best be characterized by one of her favorite Scriptures: Psalm 92:13 "Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God"

Yet Charity's ministry extended far beyond the walls of the church. Her family was one of her greatest joys. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who poured the same unconditional love, faith and integrity she demonstrated in ministry into those she loved most.

She leaves behind a rich legacy of faith, kindness, quiet strength, unwavering belief in God, and confidence in the power of prayer. It is a legacy that will continue to inspire her church, her community and most importantly, her family for generations to come.

Remaining to celebrate her life, cherish her memory, and continue her legacy are her three children, whom she adored; Deidra Brady, Keith Johnson and Thomas Taylor Jr. (Alleisha); her beloved granddaughter, Jazmin Moody; and her grandsons, Kammari Johnson, Alijah Wade-Taylor, and Ahmar Wade- Taylor, whom she loved with her whole heart. She leaves behind her beloved four-legged fur baby, Destiny. Charity also leaves her brothers, Ernest Johnson Jr., Michael Shahid, Stephen Johnson (Margo), Paul Johnson (Terre) and Timothy Johnson (Renee); her beloved sister and lifelong friend, Dorcas Matthews; and as a treasured member of a wonderfully large family, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members, dear friends, church family and special coworkers whose lives were made richer because Charity was a part of them.
