CATHY EUGENIA WATTS, daughter of the Sarah Catherine Watts and the late Johnny Ford Watt was born on October 3, 1962 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Cathy began her education in Charlotte, North Carolina at Fairview Elementary and Bethune Elementary. She continued her education in Baltimore, Maryland at Hampstead Middle School. Cathy graduated in June 1980 from Eastern High School where she excelled in Basketball, Sotfball, and Track. She also was a `1st degree black belt in Karate. Cathy began her working experience at Phillip Seafood Restaurant right out of high school. She then went on to work for John Hopkins Hospital and eventually retired from Maryland Division of Corrections after 16 years of service.

Cathy started her journey with Christ at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina and continued that journey at New Pilgrim Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD where she was a member of the Junior Usher Board and sang on the youth choir, the Gospel Workshop. She later joined Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended until her death.

Cathy’s presence mixed with her sense of humor and compassion impacted everyone she came in contact with. There was never a time where she was not listing someone’s spirit with jokes and stories. She was a very genuine and loving person that did not mind helping anyone. To know Cathy was to love her.

On Saturday, February 9, 2019, God called Cathy home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ after a brief illness. Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Ford Watts, her sister, Frances Denise Watts, and her brothers, Johnny Leon Watts, Kenneth Eugene Watts, and Johnny Stewart.
