Catherine A Williams

Catherine Ansonia Williams born August 10, 1961, peacefully answered the call of God on March 7, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. Catherine was known by all as Sonia.

Sonia attended the Baltimore City Public School System.

If you lived anywhere near the parameters of Reisterstown Road to Park Heights Avenue, Roger’s Avenue to Belvedere Avenue you had no choice but to know Sonia. She walked for miles everyday, always making her presence known either by speaking or friendly bothering everyone she knew along the way.

Sonia embodied a will to fight, be it life challenges or people physically, just know she was ready for the battle. No matter how many times it seemed she failed she got right back up and ready to face it again. She was a sweetheart, funny and very family oriented. She loved hard and was willing to sacrifice herself to see others happy.

As her battle with ALS became more challenging, she was gently cared for by her dedicated daughter Shernice, grandsons Charles and Cameron and grand dog Missy.

Sonia was preceded in death by her loving mother Catherine Jones; brother Paul Jones; nephews Shawntaye Alexander and Javon King; niece Khadijah Hughes.

Sonia leaves to mourn her son Marquis Brown; daughter Shernice Williams; grandsons Corey Little, Charles Johnson and Cameron Johnson; granddaughter Symphony Brown; sisters Martha Yancey, Barbara Hughes (Larry), Australia Monroe and Cynthia Monroe; brother Isaac Blackstone; sister in law Lisa Jones; one godson Joe Levine; a special friend Leonard Torrence and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
