Carrie was employed at several jobs one being Levison & Klein Furniture Store in which she enjoyed selling furniture. She then worked for Baltimore City Public Schools as a Para Educator where she truly enjoyed working with children and when the children would see her out in public they would address her as Mrs. White, Momma, or Grandma. She retired from the school system after thirty-three years. Even after her retirement it was hard for her to let children go so she started babysitting children of family, friends and neighbors. She truly showed unconditional love to each of them and was known wherever she would go especially in her community. Carrie was well known by many. She showed the highest respect to others and also received the highest respect from all. She never met any strangers. She had a heart of gold and passion. You definitely felt very welcomed in her presence. If she could support you, she did.

Carrie, and her two sisters, Audry and Virginia who were classified as the Golden Girls had a special bond. They truly enjoyed spending time together especially at family gatherings. When Carrie went out, she was the life of the party and wouldn't miss a step on the dance floor shaking those hips. One of her favorite songs was "Follow Me" and she led the way. Carrie enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carrie enjoyed talking on the phone, traveling, shopping and hanging with her friends Fannie, the Brandon Family, and other work friends and associates.
