A substantial man, Carlton Eugene Smith Sr. was born December 15,1957, to the late John Morgan Smith and Alice Mae Walker-Smith of Emporia, Virginia. Carlton entered into his forever home on October 18,2025 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Carlton loved the Lord with all of his heart. He also loved to be around family and friends. Carlton was TREMENDOUS fan of the Washington Commanders.

Carlton received his education in the Emporia School System. At the young age of 16, Carlton met the love of his life Tanya in Baltimore City. In 1990, the two wed and formed a forever bond. This beautiful union welcomed five children.
