BROWNIE GRAY MOORE was born on July 4,1933 in Pitt County, North Carolina. She was the seventh of twelve children born to the late Benjamin & Hattie Cox. She peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, September 7, 2026.

"Boot", as she was affectionately known received her formal education in the Pitt County Public School System in North Carolina. She later moved to Baltimore City in 1954, with her family.

Brownie was raised in a Christian home and accepted the Lord Jesus as her savior at an early age. She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Henry Wilson. In her later years, she joined The Ark Church of Baltimore, pastored by Revend James Carter. She remained a faithful member until she began to have health challenges.

While building a life in Baltimore, Brownie, was employed by the Howard Johnson Hotels, Raleigh's Clothing Factory, and the Social Security Administration, where she retired after many years of service.

Boot was a loving wife (Leonard Moore), mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was also a cherished sister, aunt and friend to many. Boot loved to travel to North Carolina with her sibling to attend family reunions at her brother Winfred's house, who would often have her cook her famous collard greens. She also loved to eat and cook crabs, spend time with her great and great-grandchildren, watch WWF wrestling, and play a good game of Solitaire.

Brownie was proceded in death by her two daughters, Gloria Jean and Veronica. Her siblings, Charlester, Earlie, Bertha, Horace, Winfield, Helen, Bobby Gene, Curtis, Shirley, Melvin, Mary and Gladys. As well as Yvonne "Sally" who was her BFF Niece.

Brownie leaves to cherish her fond memories; two daughters, Patricia and Miranda ten grandchildren, Wendell Sr. (Raynard), Willis (Edward), Rayiniel, Devin (Jocelyn), Yuri, Jermaine (Keosha), Ashley (David), Latisha, Brandi and Brasndon; 23 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Bennie (Gail) Cox; a special great niece and phone buddy, Yvette; and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
