Brenda E. White

Brenda Melvina Elliott White, 82, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday, July 20th, 2021.

Brenda was dedicated to caring for all children. She often said that it was our responsibility to do right by the children we brought into this world. To that end, she worked for many, many years as a preschool teacher at various day care centers throughout the city including the Hyman Blumberg Day Care Center where she met many lifelong friends.

Brenda was a true believer in Christ which she exemplified by her outpouring of love for those that crossed her path. Raised in the Lutheran church, she took her commitment to Christ and the church very seriously as she participated in various committees and events and attended church on a regular basis.

She leaves to mourn her passing her three children; her grandchild Tinika Nichol Ferguson; her three great-grandchildren Briauna Rice, Lachelle Lamb, and Laquan Lamb; a host of great-great-grandchildren including Nyasia, David, Amir, Kamari, and Zaahir;  and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

The Calvin B. Scruggs Funeral Home at 1412 E. Preston Street in Baltimore, MD has been entrusted with Brenda’s homegoing services. The wake will take place on Monday, July 26th from 4 to 7pm. The funeral service will start at 10am on Tuesday, July 27th.
